`Every profession has its own language, if not a code that is decipherable only to those who work within its systems. Often such jargon involves useful abbreviations that make life easier, but sometimes their meaning is far from clear to those outside the organisation.`
Using phrases such as `power of attorney` or `capacity assessment` without explaining what this means is dishonest. These phrases may be legal terms the social worker understands but they are jargon to `service users` and their families.

NHS Lanarkshire Review
NHS Lanarkshire is involving the public in a review of old age psychiatry. They are asking patients, carers and relatives their views on the best way to improve care for older people with mental health issues.
The review is closely linked to Reshaping Care for Older People - a national programme to improve the way in which care is delivered by inceasing community support and services.
Members of the public are invited to an information session 11am - 12 noon on Thursday 22 August 2013 in St Andrews Parish Church Hall, MOTHERWELL. HERE
